SOON TO BE ANNOUNCED ....
We have been approved from our new agency for our other program. Hopefully everything will work the way it is supposed to. Keep your fingers crossed. I will post more info when we are officially "in".
This is the busier time of year with all the holidays and get togethers. We have off tomorrow from work and school. I don't cook for Thanksgiving so it is relatively a calm time. We go to my sister's house. We will start to shop on Friday or should I say, John usually starts to shop.
Kyle finally finished up all of his college applications. He is applying to 10 colleges. The school has his packets. They will put all of the itens they need to put in, and then hand the packets back to us to mail. We have to mail them ourselves because he is including a thick book of copies of his published work in the local newspapers. We should get them in the mail by Dec. 1st. Then we wait for the letters..... I don't remember being this anxious when I applied to college.
This past weekend we had our friends over for Brunch. It was so nice having all three families together. We have many boys between us and they all got along very nicely. Of course I got my Meaghan and Mia fixes. They are just soooooo cute. Especially together. These girls are so lucky to have each other. I feel so lucky to know these babies.

WHERE ARE THE BABIES?
The Chinese government plans to build 83 new orphanages in 2008, as part of the effort to improve child welfare infrastructure, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Tuesday.
The State Development and Reform Commission plans to allocate 130 million yuan (US$17 million) for the construction, while the Ministry of Civil Affairs will use 200 million yuan (US$26 million) from the income of the Welfare Lottery.
The funds would mainly be spent in building the new orphanages, said Zhang Mingliang, director of the ministry's department of social welfare and social affairs.
Efforts would also focus on improving the facilities and functions of orphanages, so as to provide orphans with fostering, medical care, special education, rehabilitation, and vocational training, said Zhang.
By the end of 2006, China had 249 orphanages with 30,716 beds, which accommodates 72,000 orphans, or 13 percent of the country's total.
The government plans to set up orphanages or open orphan's departments in local welfare houses in all prefecture-level cities by 2010.

The final Football Sunday

Well everyone, today was our final game. The boys haven't played at home for the last 4 games. We played a very tough team today. Our little Sharks lost, with a final record of 8-2. Not so bad for a bunch of 7 year olds. My little Shark got a hit today that gave him a major headache in the second quarter, so of course he had to sit out the rest of the game. After some Tylenol from one of the moms, and a quick check by one of the dads of our boys that is a pediatrician, my little guy decided to run back to his bench. I think he thought he would be able to play again in the game, but we have a great coaching team so they wouldn't let him play again, not knowing the extent of the injury. He is fine, I think it was just a big headache brought on by the excitement of this day, and a good tackle. He was so disapointed that when we got home he wanted to know how many months there was until football started again...... Thanks coach Gino for taking the time with C after he got hurt....
Here's to a great team of boys, coaches, and parents. So how many months do we have to wait until football starts again???????????

I am ok.... Really
Ok new week, happy thoughts. Just an update for those waiting to hear about my little guys' football team record.... we played in the pouring rain, freezing cold on Saturday. They lost...:( but still have one of the best records for the 7 year olds......8-1. They play their last game this weekend..
Then we start Basketball, definately not competitive like football..
We have one more college to visit this weekend.. New Paltz and then it is all up to the applications. In two weeks we will be done with that as well.
China just posted info about concurrent adoptions...they are allowing them with some time between... soooooo maybe we will be able to do both... if my bat phone ever rings. I haven't got any calls in a while. This month we are advertising in TN, PA, IND.,and Wa.
I will try to post some picts later..

The adoption blues

Today was to be a day for celebrating.. or so I hoped and prayed.
We actually asked to be matched with a beautiful baby girl with minor special needs from Korea. She showed up on our agencies list just last week. We asked for her info, asked if we could easily slip into the Korea program, and were told yes to both accounts. We had her medical records looked at by our pediatrician, and then decided we would like the chance to have been her parents. She was so adorable and we truly would have loved to be her parents Our agency, and social worker had us very hyped up, only 5 other families asked for info and as of Tuesday no one else asked to be matched. We hadn't heard anything yesterday. We knew that they would be meeting on her this morning. Then my agency sent an email. YUP not even the decency of a phone call that we were not chosen to be her parents. Needless to say, it feels as sad as the loss through miscarriage. We tried not to get too excited, but in the end we were really excited. I thought that finally this 5 year battle for another child would be over. Over???? not even close. No explanation, as to why we weren't chosen, perhaps we haven't suffered enough.
So with a heavy heart I place another month of adoption ads . I wonder if this journey will ever end. I can not imagine what this must be like for those of us who choose adoption and have no children at home. First the disapointment of infertility and then all the ups and downs of adoption.
Just one year ago I thought we would have our daughter home by this spring......China is only up to December 8th 2005. YESSSS 2005. I am logged in February 9, 200777777777777777777777777777777777777777777. 2 years behind and increasing.
