WHINE!

Ok so I don't want to whine.. but I can't help it. Where the heck are the referrals? I am getting so antsy. John reminds me when I tell him I can't take it anymore that we have waited over 2years for a baby. He keeps telling me that it is gonna happen soon. I am still in denial that this is actually going to occur....

I have started to think about the room but I can't get myself to actually committ to anything yet. I have a general idea of the color scheme, and furniture but that is about it. I will have to post the before mess that the room is in to show you the noncommittment I have going on.

Ok so tomorrow will be 9 months since on wait list and it was suppossed to be only a 4 to 6 month wait. CRAP!!!Where are the referrals?????????????????????

We've been booed!!

Halloween is a pretty fun holiday for the kids. Tonight Coleton got booed!!! That is where someone leaves a bag of goodies at your door and then you have to pass it on to two more friends. Needless to say, we quickly put together 2 bags and BOOED 2 more of his friends. John actually took him around the block to get to his friends on the other side.... I AM NOT TELLING WHO!!!!!

Football anyone????

This past weekend was filled with FOOTBALL. Friday night after work....football practice...freezing.

Saturday morning many of the boys from Coleton's team went to see their coach "Pat" play football for his high school. Pat's dad is the head coach for the boys' team. Patrick loves the game, and has been one of the 4 other coaches for the team. The kids love him, and were very excited to see him in action. Here is a picture of the boys routing for their "coach".

Then right from there, we had to meet at a local high school in full gear (the boys of course) because they were invited to go in the locker room to hear the coaches of the high school team give their team the pre game pep talk, and get the team Psyched. They then ran out on the field with the highschool team. At half time our boys got to play an exhibition game on the field. It was a fun, day for the boys... fun for us too but very tiring......and cold.

Then today we had to be on the field at 12:00 for our 1:00 game, and didn't actually start playing until 1:45..Usually it is not so bad to wait, but the weather turned to 45 degrees with major wind going on. It was freezing. We always love our Sunday football games, and it didn't matter that we were freezing...Our coaches and our team have been together for 4 years now so we are all like family. We only have 2 games left and we always feel such a loss when we stop playing.....

By the way the kids won today!!! They are 4-2..GO SHARKS.. And our NY Giants won too today!!!

The story of our 171H

When we first decided to adopt from China (look at the counter on the lower right near the bottom to see how long ago), we had to apply for a special document from homeland security. The document was the 171H which is the advance processing form from the USA of an orphan from another country. It included having our fingerprints done here as well. OK.... fast forward to deciding to adopt from Taiwan. We used our NY agency's social worker to write our Taiwan homestudy. She tells us we need to switch our
171H from China, to Taiwan. So we apply to do this, I ask does this include the extention because you only have 18 months before this form expires. She says the transfer will take care of that. Then I read on our JOH board that we should check and make sure the 171H arrived at the proper office in Taiwan. So after about 10 emails through various countries we find out that our 171H EXPIRED. OH MY GOD>.... I really blew a gasket at our NY agency... We had to shell out another $600 + in fees and get a few things notarized and copied again. THE CRAZINESSS NEVER ENDS.

However today I recieved our new 171H..... which doesnt expire until 2010... but our fingerprints expire on April 9 2009.... Yes for those of you that have never had the privilege to adopt.... your fingerprints actually expire... The guy at our USCIS office is like a friend. I just hope we dont have to go back for the 3rd time... which means we hope we travel to Taiwan befor April 9, 2009 or else we have to reprint and repay.

TWO

Glitter Words

YUP...WE ARE NUMBER TWO. It actually hit me tonight that this is really going to happen. Congratulations to our fellow JOHer Heather and Paul that just received their referral for their daughter OLIVIA... Check out their blog to the right.

Here we are

Here we are at the start of a new week. I have become very spoiled over the past 3 weeks due to several days off for each week, for Jewish Holidays, and then yesterday for Columbus day. We had a very busy weekend. On Saturday we joined my 2 sisters out at Montuak for the day. Each year they go with their families for the Columbus day weekend and stay there. But if you read my 7 random things below, you will note number one and hence the reason that I can not stay at the motels that they have out in Montauk. But we always pick a day to go out and spend it with all of them. This year we finally made it to the Clam Chowder festival. It was delicious. Several restaurants make big vats of chowder and you buy a mug and get tickets and then you can sample a few different types. MMMM MMMMM good!!! Then we pick a restaurant for dinner. This year we ate at a different one than the last few years. It was a family style restaurant, and the waitress told us to order 4 mains and 2 apps and that would feed 9 people (3 of which were kids). Obviously, she has never been to my house to see how much we all can eat including the kids.... however the food was decent.
Then we went to a fireworks show on the beach. That was really great. The show lasted for about 20 minutes... beautiful display. The night was not that cold luckily, since it was on the beach. It reminded me of my HITHER HILLS days, when I was a teenager.. but that is a story for another time. Then we went to our usual ice cream spot, which was mobbed because it is the only ice cream spot in the area. I actually broke down and had a cup of my favorite chocolate peanut butter. Hmmm , now I am realizing that there is a theme here.... FOOD. No seriously we always love to go out there for the day and spend time with each other. This was the first year without Kyle, and needless to say he was not happy that we didnt include him. He doesnt realize that we have a life while he is in college

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. I tried to take pictures on my iphone, but since I am a terrible picture taker anyway they didnt comeout good. Maybe if one of my sister's reads this, they can email me some picts to put on here.

Of course Sunday was consummed with Coleton's football game. They played an awesome game. They worked as a team, and they played their hearts out.

So now we are on Tuesday, and I am really hoping that this will be the week. We are still number 3...

7 Random things

Ok first, We are still number three. The waiting game begins anew each week. Every Monday I become obsessive and check my email, blog, friend's blog, and jump every time the phone rings. This is because our referral could be any day and most likely after 3:00 in the afternoon because of our Taiwan agency is on the West coast.

My friend Heather, a fellow JOHer, is the next one up on the list. Since I check her blog at least 5 times a day to see if she got here referral, I thought I would take her up on her 7 RANDOM THINGS about me.

1. I hate to walk barefoot in a hotel room...In fact I am obsessive about hotels..and will not stay in many places, have made my husband go out and find another hotel after check in for us.. yes I am crazy.

2. I once worked in McDonalds, a dry cleaner, and a fabric factory.

3. I have never had a surprise party thrown for me....hmmmmmm

4. I love my iphone, did I tell you how I love my iphone??

5. My favorite movie is 'IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE"..I dont know I just love it so no matter how corny it is.

6. I believe in physics, and would love to have a reading about this crazy wait... Although on our trip to Maine in August, I had my palm read, and she said I would have 3 kids... without knowing anything about me, and said the next one would be born in October.... I thought she was crazy because at the time I thought I would be getting a referral by end of September.

7. One of my favorite TV shows is HEROES...Something about having supernatural powers.....
So there you go.... so come on other people who blog.... you have all been tagged put it on your blog too.

UNTIL TOMORROW

New Blog

Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to add new things to my blog as I go along. I definately don't want to pay for a blog makeover so little by little I am learning to update on my own. If anyone wants to share with me how they put the little accents onto the titles for the different parts of the blog, or how to make our header more interesting please let me know. Also if you have a blog and would like to share please add it on the upper righ under blogs to follow. I lost my list of Taiwan blogs when I updated, so especially you all fellow JOHERS.. and you know who you are.... please add your link so my "other " friends can follow your amazing journeys.
