First Holy Communion.

This past week has been very busy. I had spring break, and hubby took the week off. We mulched, weeded, and cleaned out the basement all week.We had to prepare for our little guys' communion celebration party at our house o . It turned out great. He made his communion yesterday and he was so handsome, I simply adore him. Here are some pictures of our day.

3 MONTHS.... WOW. It is three months since our Taiwan log in. Most of the families have gotten their referrals on the average 6 - 7 months. So does that mean we are half way to our referral??????????

ADOPTIVE PARENTS

4. The fact that, if 7% of Christians adopted 1 child there would be no orphans in the world, is convicting to you.
5. You spend free time surfing blogs about families who've experienced the blessing of adoption.
6. It drives you crazy when people ask you about adopted child's "real" parents.
7. You've been "pregnant" with your adopted child longer than it takes an elephant to give birth.(2 years!)
8. You had no idea how you'd afford to adopt, but stepped out in faith anyway, knowing He'd provide. (& He does!)
9. You've taken an airplane half-way around the world with a child you just met.
10. You believe God's heart's for adoption.
11. You realize that welcoming a child into your heart & family is one of the most important legacies you could ever leave on this earth.
12. You know what the word "Dossier" means & you can actually pronounce it correctly!
13. You've welcomed a social worker into the most private parts of your life.
14. You shudder when people say your child's so lucky that you adopted them, knowing full well you're the blessed one to have him or her in your life.

Opening day for Baseball.

What is better than spending a Saturday at the local ball field watching my little guy play baseball? NOTHING. Today was opening day. It started at 8:00 am today, with parades, team introductions and politicians. Our game was at 12:00. We had team pictures right before. It seemed nice enough as the weather really warmed up today.. But by the second inning we had a really bad thunder storm and down pour. Game was delayed for 20 minutes and then we started again. However, the rain and thunder returned so we didn't get to finish. Coleton was extremely disapointed. Of all the sports he plays, baseball is his number one favorite.

REFERRALS!!!

YEA!! My agency made some more referrals this week. So far we know that it is through September. That means that those families were waiting just 6 months and one week for a referral. But we still do not know if the referrals have gone into October. Our agency doesnt tell us how many are in front of us. Most of us are on a Journeys of the Heart yahoo board and try to keep track based on who has entered their information on the data base. It has been pretty accurate, but there are some people not on the yahoo board. That would leave us with our 1/25/08 log in date- or wait list date as around 14 on the list. If the current trend continues we might see a referral at around July. I am shooting for an August referral. Then a speedy process through their court system and hopefully go to Taiwan in December. Of course this is all wishful thinking but not impossible.

Secret Buddy gift

Since we have nothing better to do(cough, cough) some of my fellow, Journeys of the Heart Agency , waiting families have decided to do a monthly gift swap. Each month we have a theme, and we have to mail out our gift to our assigned family. We do not know who our giftors are and won't reveal until the 6th month. Monday, I received my gift.... I am feeling a little guilty though since, I must confess, I don't have my gift purchased yet. We actually have until the 2oth to send them. We each had to fill out a questionaire, and one of the questions was the nursery theme that we might chose. I love fairies......and the colors that usually accompany them. I will probably be accenting with fairy "dust" when we do finally do the nursery. Here is a picture of the beautiful gift I recieved from my secret buddy. It is a night light and runs on batteries so there is no plug...love it. Our theme this month was bath time, and rightlfully so my buddy said after bath time comes bed time... hence the night light..

Another sport

As many of you know our little guy loves any type of sport there is. He is currently trying Lacrosse (which for those of you not from the area , it is a very popular sport). He is doing pretty well, and had his first game this past Sunday. It was definately a nail biter for us... worrying does he know his position, is he offsides etc. But we worried needlessly, he held his own and we are very proud of him.
