NO NOTHING YET

It is almost the end of September. There doesn't seem to have been any referrals yet for this month. We are still number four on that dang list. Remember though there could be other people that are not on this list because they choose not to be or maybe they don't know it exists. We recieved a newsletter from our agency and there were 6 girl referrals for August and we only had 4 of them on our list. SO hopefully there will be many in October????

BEGINNINGS AND ENDINGS

Saturday we had awards day for Coleton's little league. There was a Home Run Derby before the ceremony. Well my little baseball star WON in his division. Yup, 1st place. He was so excited, We were so excited for him. He got up there and "POP" all the way into the outfield. His team also won runner up in the playoffs.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!

Then today we had our opening game for football. It was very hot here ,about 85 and very humid. The game before us was running late so the kids had to hang around for about an hour in their uniforms. We won the first game. We have a great team (not because they won) of parents and players. This team has been together since Kindergarten. This will be their 4th year together. We really enjoy football season, even though it can be difficult at times with practices 3 times a week, and games on Sunday. But it is all worth it to see the boys enjoy the game.
GO SHARKS!

No referrals yet....

We are still number 4 on the list. There havent been any referrals this month yet.
There could be no referrals, one referral or 5 referrals. Noone ever knows. They come out at all different times of the month, and times of the day. This is one time I can honestly say that I am glad to be at work. I don't have a spare moment to harp on our wait... although I think about it constantly. I am slightly distracted and can not seem to focus during this part of the wait.

I am so blessed to have wonderful friends. One is a friend that I have known for about 4 years. The other one is a friend that I met through my agency -Journeys of the Heart Yahoo group. Both are named Laura.

Thank you Laura G.- Your thoughtfulness is always appreciated. She has been listening to me on a daily basis about our adoption. She is as excited as we are about bringing our daughter home. Her gift is the first time we have actually seen the name we have chosen down in writing... We love it......

Thank you Laura M.- Your kindness and thoughtfulness is truly a gift. Laura has a daughter she brought home from Taiwan one year ago. Her name is Zoe, and she is a beautiful smart 2 year old. I have had the pleasure to meet her over the summer. I value her friendship a lot. She brought this beautiful fairy box, and little baby ring holder for our daughter.

It was also my first day of school. I wasn't so excited.. just kidding. I am sosososo hoping to see our daughter's face this month. COME ON REFERRALS!!! My stomach is so jumpy with all these changes going on. All good things though.

Also a big congratulations to our friends who are celebrating their family day today. It is one year since Mia has been home and she has grown so much. Check out their blog on the side by clicking on MIA.

The Parents of a college student.

I can not freakin believe that we have a college student. I did good though with very little tears. We had packed the car the day before so we just had some last minute stuff to shove in. We left at about 9:00 am. We get there and the road is so narrow, cars parked on both sides barely big enough for our van to unload...we literally had to throw things onto the sidewalk as quick as we could since people were waiting in cars behind us. Then John had to go park the car.. ten blocks away, as I stood by the pile, Kyle and Coleton carried the stuff into the lobby and made a new pile. We finally got checked in, and then waited while the room was being cleaned... someone just moved out over the past few days..

We moved him in with all the stuff. He has a beautiful view out of his window. The room is relatively large for two college kids and they have their own bathroom in the room. After we set him up, we took a walk around this gorgeous area, had a late lunch at a cute cafe. We were very impressed with the area. Me not being a city girl, I could live there in those beautiful brownstones.

This is a really nice setup for a college student. As fate would have it, someone whom I work quite closely with has a daughter attending the same college this year. THEY ARE ACCROSS THE HALL FROM EACH OTHER. They had met several times so they know each other. Hopefully, they will rely on each other if they need something.

Now if we could just get rid of his girlfriend .....ONLY KIDDING!!!!

Now we are officially broke, and the parents of a college student. We hope he does well here and takes advantage of this great opportunity.
Yes, and we will be starting all over again in just a few short months. No referral news yet.
