Life goes on

With spring brings another whole season of new sporting activities for Coleton. Although, our schedule becomes one tightly wound hamster wheel, we do enjoy watching our little guy do all the things he does. Baseball season, and Lacrosse season is gearing up with multiple practices, and games starting next week. We have a practice for something each evening, plus homework, science fair projects, work, and preparing dinners. I have to say the dinner thing is the biggest challenge for me. I get home usually by 4:15 and then we need to be out of the house by 4:40ish. So that leaves me enough time to change clothes, have a quick cup of coffee, talk to my kids on their days events and then leave. We end up eating around 7:30 by the time I cook and get everything prepared. We leave one night for pizza, but that is the extent of how much eating out we want to do. I am not big on spending my weekends cooking for the week either. So I have to be creative with dinner. I know when Paige FINALLY comes home, I will have to be even more creative and organized.

We didn't hear anything again this week. It is extremely frustrating. So yes, life goes on. We will be sending out another care package this week, we just have to go to the postoffice, it is ready to go. I put some more cute outfits in, 2 more lighter sleepers, some toys, and another camera. At least I will have pictures of all these months of not being able to take care of her.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Another week

This has been a really hard week. We still did not receive a hearing date. I have really tried not to be upset, but it is hard to not let that happen. I can not understand why everything has to be so difficult for us. Why, why, why. At this rate the earliest we will bring her home is probably June. I don't get it. It sucks, and that is all there is to it.

Another update

I love this little girl already. Here is our March update. Paige is now 10 1/2 pounds and is 21.7 inches long and drinks 4 0z every 4 hours. If you look closely there is a yellow rubberband making a little ponytail on top of her head.

Cake number 2 with his grandparents, aunt,Uncle and cousins.

Cake number 3 with all his friends. He had a movie party and then pizza and cake at home. It was a beautiful day so the boys went outside to play baseball between pizza, cake and presents.

So how was your day?

Fingerprinting went off without a hitch today. We discovered that they closed the old location...thank god.... you would have to get a key to use the restroom which was on a huge piece of gross wood... and go out of the building to a central walk way... it was a pretty run down place to say the least. At first we thought it was another location, but then we saw the same cast of characters: the old guard, the finger printer technicians. The new location was clean, and had a bathroom without a key, and we were not herded in like cattle. Much nicer..

We went shopping and then to lunch afterwards. Coleton was in school, so it was a child free day.

We have no news. It seems like our judge wants the homestudy done on our birthmother before he/she sets a hearing date. So I am hoping that our wait will be on longer on this side, and then go quickly once we get to hearing. These things are so unpredictable. Some cases breeze through in 4 months from time of referral, some drag on for 7 months or more. We truly hope ours doesnt drag on for that long...

The finger

Tomorrow we get fingerprinted by Homeland Security FOR THE THIRD TIME.. I know you say, but your fingerprints don't change. But ya know, it is the darndest thing our fingerprints are good for only 15 months. Our 2nd set expires on April 9th. So off to fingerprinting we will go. We started to get to know the fingerprinters very well and now they have changed our location. Wish us luck that we find the place, and who knows maybe hubby will treat me to lunch.

My baby turns 9

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear little boy. Today is my little guy's birthday. Where have the past 9 years gone? I love him more than he can realize. This little 9 year old
is an amazing human being. He is sensitive, smart, handsome, athletic and simply put, he is very special to us. Tonight starts the first of several celebrations for his birthday. We are having a quiet dinner with just the four of us tonight.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLETON!!!!

Snow day

Today we had over 12 inches of snow. It was the biggest snow storm here in the past
2 years. It is the first time I can remember that school was cancelled the night before. I didn't go out at all today.... but Coleton was outside with his 2 friends most of the day... of course making indoor pit stops at each other's houses for hot chocolate.

Here are some shots of the backyard and of the boys trekking inside.

The light

I have always wanted to put a chandelier in my baby's rooms if they were ever girls. Well now that we are "having" a girl, of course I want to put a chandelier. My DH however has this thing about ceiling fans in all the rooms, even though we have central air, because it circulates the air conditioning better and is great for those nights when we don't have the air on and it is a little warm. So of course I have been on the look out for just the right fan. Well now Paige will have both. I found this light kit that we can put on a white fan.
Needless to say I am very excited and I can't wait to get it delivered. We still have to go and buy the white fan, but that is the easy part. I LOVE THIS LIGHT!!!!
