Our friends Brian and Melissa arrived home this night with their beautiful new son Owen from China. They arrived home around 8:45 this evening and many of us gathered to great them. Owen had a huge smile on his face for his sisters and brother. He really is so sweet and we can't wait to get to know him. Welcome Home Owen.

Caution....
This is a poor me post. So if you do not want to hear me whine, or want to read something upbeat then I suggest you move to a different blog. I am beyond frustrated, beat down, and down right discouraged. Yes I have resorted to asking 'WHY ME? WHAT DID I EVER DO??" First I get a referral then it goes away, and
then we get a referral for a beautiful baby and then it seems like we get the slowest judge in the world. I dont freakin get it.... I wanted to be home for a while with Paige,,,and now it look like I wont be home all that long with her before the next school year starts... SUCKS. Ok I told you.. stop reading if you can't stand the whine..
I am not done yet.....
Why can't things work out FOR ONCE????? Why do things always go wrong??? God knows I have tried to remain positive... if I didnt I wouldnt have been able to stick out this whole stinkin process. How else can I handle this??? Don't tell me to get a life... because I have a very full one thank you. I have 2 great kids, and since one is in college, the other one keeps me very busy with all of his activities. I enjoy him a lot. I am also a full time teacher, and that keeps me very busy, because even when I am not at work, I am planning lessons, or doing paperwork. The only thing that I would say we havent done in the past 2 years is take a vacation because we keep thinking we will be traveling to some far away country at any moment, and are saving the pennies for that....
How does one get through this, especially now that our wait has turned to the longer side of things? I am not sure that I have the stomach for it but what else can we do? It is so out of our control. And then we see her sweet face... boy oh boy is it sweet. Yes folks since I have experienced it both ways, I would say that adoption is much harder than being pregnant... MUCH!!!!
SO OPRAH if you are reading this, instead of doing some crappy show on some crazy women who wants to have 14 kids, and her father who thinks she is crazy, do one on how hard it is for those of us trying to adopt. THERE ARE A LOT OF US!!!We would make a much more interesting show.
Ok did you stick with me on this post??? I don't want sympathy, I just need to vent, scream, punch the walls, cry and pray that this nightmare of a wait will eventually end and we will have Paige home, and our lives will go on, and we will be a complete family.....

The crib
This past week brought no more news about Paige. I was off from work for the week
and Coleton was off from school for winter break. We didnt go anywhere just stayed home and kept very busy. We had lunch with a few friends, Coleton got to play with his cousins, and had a few playdates. I got to play in Paige's room. We had the furniture delivered and so I was busy putting away clothes, arranging her drawers, her books, her things. Not sure if it helped or made it worse for me with the wait. The room is really coming together, now I can focus on the decorating part. I will post a peak at her crib but wont post any more picts until her room is done.

Diaper Bags
Today I recieved my diaper bag from here... I love it, and was suprised at the size, as I thought it would be much smaller. I have my friend Missy to thank for the find. I had ordered it from their 2nd line, but the company emailed me to say that the bag I ordered was not available. They wanted to know if I wanted to chose from 2 of the bags in their regular line. Wow, not often that you find customer service like that. I will have to be on the lookout for another bag that I can interchange with this one.
We also found this "daddy" bag from Po**eryBarn outlet and it was only $8.95. Yup, what a find. It is perfect for hubby when he takes Paige somewhere. Hubby didn't use a seperate bag for the boys, well because they were blue and boyish, not flowery like Paige's.So when we saw this bag and I mentioned the daddy bag idea to him, he actually liked it.

Dear Paige
Dear Paige,
You are 3 months old today. We love you very much and wish that you could be here with your family. We are waiting not so patiently for you to come home. You are probably with your foster mom right now, and we hope that you are being well taken care of. We can only hope and pray that your court process will go faster than it has...... Love Mommy, Daddy and big brothers.

The furniture

Today we went furniture shopping. We finally made a decision and we will have it delivered this week. Our crib is a beautiful Bellini Antique White crib, which our dearest friends Michelle and Mike loaned to us. It is practically brand new since Meaghan used it for just a year. This set should go beautifully with her crib. I will take actual pictures once it is set up in the room, but by popular demand via my facebook friends they wanted a sneak peak now.
care package update
This is my brain right now.I am totally covinced that I am suffering "pregnancy brain".. something awful. Yesterday I wrote the street number down for my dh to put on the care package that he took up to the post office. He got there like at 12:45 and the post office closed at 1:00. For some reason at around 2:00 I looked at the address on the paper that I wrote the address on and something looked strange. I checked then against the address that it was supposed to be, and sure enough for some strange reason I wrote a 3 intstead of where a 4 should be.... PANIC SET IN. I Debated about telling my husband, and letting the mail system work it out in Taiwan... then of course I thought of Paige and all the personal things I put in there for her... OK...then I decided I had to tell my hubby. He was pretty calm, I was the one totally freaking out. He then said ok get in the car and we will run to the post office. We got in the car and half way there, we spotted a postman in a postal truck. Hubby said I am gonna follow him back to the postoffice. We did... tailgating him the whole time..then we drove through the back gates still following him, and then the man parks and Hubby jumps out of the car and runs up to the post guy....he probably though we were going to highjack him or something... Well hubby explains about the package and what an airhead I am by giving him the wrong address, and this poor guy says ok.. I will see what I can do.
Needless to say... "I love you Mr.Postman!!!" He came out and said it was changed and fixed. Paige's care package is now back on track and on its way to Taiwan..the right address..WHEEWWWW.

Boring!
I have no news to report. I realize how boring my blog is getting with no news.

So I will digress a little:
Coleton finished his basketball season this past Wednesday. He still does Lacrosse and Baseball clinics on Sundays. We expect Lacrosse season to start mid March and Baseball beginning of April.
We applied to update our fingerprints for the THIRD time... Yes folks... THIRD .. time. This time USCIS charges us.
School break is coming up next week. YEAHHHHH!!! We are not going anywhere, but I hope to get up late, shop, hang out with the Coleton, and do what ever we feel like.
Our friends Melissa and Brian left for CHINA today to pick up their son Owen. You can check their blog by clicking on the right side WEN. I cant wait to see him..
We are having a romantic valentines day..... we are having our taxes done... whoohoo.
I have also found a whole new world of blogs that I would like to do a post on eventually. It is about blogs that host giveaways. I am not a lucky person when it comes to winning things, but I enter quite a few giveaways each week, and who knows maybe I will win some day.

February already.
Can you believe that it is February already? I feel like we were just putting up the Christmas tree. Life here has just been marching on. No hearing date yet. Hmm, yes we are getting very antsy over this. It is almost 2 months since Min Shan's referral. I have been feeding my urge to buy her clothes. I just purchased several bathing suits, a coverup, matching hat, bows, a winter coat for next year and a winter hat to match. I have found so many wonderful on line stores and they are having huge sales right now. One of my favorites in which I just purchased her coat for next winter (the paisley) can be found here.
The room is almost done, blinds went up tonight. Drapes on the way...crib assembled. Next on the to do list: order furniture- buy a few crib sheets(pink of course) I need to iron the bedskirt and put that on too. Lots to do stil but making progress. Ok, I know you want another photo... here it is.
