Update on us: no Log In Date (LID) yet. We are still waiting patiently.
But.. It is fun to watch as others recieve their referrals. My friend Michelle and her family will receive their daughter's referral next month.... they have been waiting since October 2005. I am so excited and nervous for her....
Well today is SUPERBOWL SUNDAY... Not that I am a football fan, but the little guy loves the game. I like all the goodies but not the calories.
I GUESS I NEED TO START MAKING THIS BLOG A LITTLE MORE EXCITING WHILE WE ARE WAITING:
SO I THOUGHT OF FEW THINGS.
I think I will put a new recipe on here FROM TIME TO TIME that I think is worth while, and if anyone has a suggestion of what other types of posts they would like that would be interesting...let me know...
RECIPE: FOR A LOWFAT TACO DIP: OR YOU CAN USE AS A SALAD FOR LUNCH OR FILLING IN A TACO OR WRAP.
INGREDIENTS:
1 8 0Z LITE CREAM CHEESE
1 160Z FAT FREE SOUR CREAM
1 BAG OF SHREDDED FAT FREE CHEDDAR
1 BAG OF ICE BERG LETTUCE
1 CAN OF VEGETARIAN STYLE REFRIED BEANS
1 PACKET OF TACO SEASONING
1 BUNCH OF SCALLIONS
1 JAR SALSA
RED AND GREEN BELL PEPPER
OLIVES (OPTIONAL)
IN BOWL MIX TACO SEASONING WITH REFRIED BEANS. MIX TOGETHER SOUR CREAM AND CREAM CHEESE. IN A BAKING DISH (I USE A 9INCH ROUND GLASS DISHOR SOME TIMES IF I AM TRAVELING WITH IT I PUT IT IN A LONG CASSERAOLE DISH SO THE LAYERS STAY IN PLACE) LAYER, BEAN MIXTURE, SOUR CREAM AND CREAM CHEESE, SCALLIONS, LETTUCE MIXED WITH THE PEPPERS AND OLIVES TO TOP. AND THEN I PUT THE SHREDDED CHEESE ON TOP SERVE CHILLED....
I am part of a book club...
Our JANUARY BOOK PICK IS "THE MEMORY KEEPERS' DAUGHTER" BY kim edwards
I only started to ready the first chapter... looks like a good one... I will comment when I am done.
The second book that I am currently reading, (I usually read more than one book at the same time) is
FROM CHINA WITH LOVE by Emily BUchanan. My friend Jo gave this one to me. Excellent, detailing someone from the UK on her adoption journey of not one but two children over a few years. Very realistic, and pretty current. I would recommend this to anyone waiting. If you have other books that you have read and would like to share please post in the comments section so that everyone can read it.
