I can not freakin believe that we have a college student. I did good though with very little tears. We had packed the car the day before so we just had some last minute stuff to shove in. We left at about 9:00 am. We get there and the road is so narrow, cars parked on both sides barely big enough for our van to unload...we literally had to throw things onto the sidewalk as quick as we could since people were waiting in cars behind us. Then John had to go park the car.. ten blocks away, as I stood by the pile, Kyle and Coleton carried the stuff into the lobby and made a new pile. We finally got checked in, and then waited while the room was being cleaned... someone just moved out over the past few days..
We moved him in with all the stuff. He has a beautiful view out of his window. The room is relatively large for two college kids and they have their own bathroom in the room. After we set him up, we took a walk around this gorgeous area, had a late lunch at a cute cafe. We were very impressed with the area. Me not being a city girl, I could live there in those beautiful brownstones.
This is a really nice setup for a college student. As fate would have it, someone whom I work quite closely with has a daughter attending the same college this year. THEY ARE ACCROSS THE HALL FROM EACH OTHER. They had met several times so they know each other. Hopefully, they will rely on each other if they need something.
Now if we could just get rid of his girlfriend .....ONLY KIDDING!!!!
Now we are officially broke, and the parents of a college student. We hope he does well here and takes advantage of this great opportunity.
Yes, and we will be starting all over again in just a few short months. No referral news yet.

Wow!! That must be sort of stunning to have a college student! Congratulations mom, you did good! Now, onto another baby. Sarah = )
What an array of emotions you must of gone throught that day! I can only imagine, and of course, needless to say, you've got me crying again!
Ah, I know how you feel, and my little one just started Kindergarten! :)
I blogged that it was one of those "misty-eyed" Mom moments...college? Wow, I'll be crying buckets! You should be so proud!
