Sunday in Taiwan

Last nght Paige slept pretty good again. She went in about 9:30 and slept until 4:00am. Naps were a little harder for her today though. Today we ventured out to the Jade market. The market is only open on weekends. It was raining hard again today, and didn't know if it would be open. We took a taxi, and when we got there it was open and it was under a bridge. Our guide Fion told us it wouldn't be open if it was raining, but it was fine. The only thing was that on the flower side, it was very hot. We went in through an area with a ton of flowers and Plants. Wow, beautiful orchids. I love flowers and would have loved to take them home. We went through one whole side and then discovered there was another whole side. We tried to bargain for the coral, but most items were for more than we wanted to pay. We did buy some jade, tiny pearl earrings for Paige, and other small items. We bought a jade stamp for Paige in her Chinese name. It is made of jade, and has a rat on it (she was born in the year of the rat). The man engraved the year she was born and her chinese name (Min Shan) on it. Beautiful! CoLeton found the market very interesting. The best way to describe it is like a flea market setting with tables set up and tons of vendors. Paige was great for the hours we were there. She started in the Ergo, then went to the carriage, then went to the arms. She flirted with everyone that made eye contact with her. Tomorrow is our AIT apt. and we are being picked up by our guide at 8:40. Afterwards we are off for more sightseeing.
