You are never prepared for anything that hurts your child. No matter how many children you have, you never get used to the times when they are sick. This past weekend, we really had quite a scare over our beautiful Paige. She had a seizure brought on by a sudden spike in her temperature. When I say, you see your child's life pass before your eyes, it is putting it mildly. Thanks goodness my older son, who is an EMT, was home with me because I totally lost all sense. Paige wound up staying in the hospital for 2 days. They were 2 very long days, and I have a new respect for anyone whose child is sick in the hospital. It is grueling for the parent. I lost track of all time, barely brushed my teeth, and held Paige for two days straight. She was such a trooper with all the needles and all. She had RSV which is something all kids get by the time they are 2 but usually we all think it is just a bad cold. She is doing better now, but she is very congested and when she coughs it turns into projectile vomitting.. I really miss my little ,active, babbling baby girl.. She is very clingy and is not saying or doing much. We also had to go to the cardiologist today because they heard a murmur. The Dr. said that she has a great heart (we knew that already) and the murmur is normal and no need for further followup. The best part was that during the sonogram part,we got to hear her heart beat and it reminded me of when you are pregnant and hear the heart beat... joyous- loved that I got to hear this.
Let's hope that tomorrow is a better day for the princess. Especially since I want her to enjoy Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. I won't be posting til after Christmas. To all of you Merry Christmas! This is truly a glorious Christmas.

Wow...how incredibly terrifying!! I'm so glad she is okay!!
And for what it's worth, this happened to me when I was a baby...with no further seizures ever.
Hugs...our girls are so precious and we are so blessed to be raising them.
