Well visit or not....

I finally was able to make a well visit apt. for Paige's 15 month shots for yesterday. Wouldn't ya know the evening before the appointment she runs a whopping 104 and has a really bad cough. When we brought her in yesterday, she had no fever but just a really runny nose and cough. The dr. decided to not give her her shots afterall. We did get her weight and height though. She is still only 17.4 lbs. and 29 1/2 inches. She is not even on the charts for weight and in the 10th percentile for height.. The Dr. didn't seem to be toooo concerned but suggested we start to give her higher calorie foods.. I don't know. We give her cookies all day- oatmeal raisin since they are more on the healthy side... I would love any kind of suggestions from you all. Oh yea.. not sure if she is lactose intolerant... we have had her on lactaid for a while and conicidence or not we have seen an improvement in her runny nose on a daily basis... Ok so give me some of your high fat ideas for Paige.

ICE CREAM! :) Course, if she's lactose intolerant that won't help. Co-Jack cheese is another one that Tessa LOVES.

Lisa I started Hayden on choc pediasure. She has one each afternoon and she thinks she rocks with her "choc milk". If she is intolerent not sure what to tell you. I also started buying her this yogert called liberte(but get the 14 grams of fat kind). It also has 240 calories. We do that with fruit in the morning. Again dairy, but it has bulked her up a bit. We added 2 lbs since we started that routine.
What about the uncrustables p. Butter and honey?? Still healthy, but loaded with fat and calories.

Both of my girls never made it on the the charts until they were close to 3. I never added high fat foods since they were following their own curve. Did he look at the American or Asian charts? Good Luck finding some high fat alternatives for her.
Sorry I dont have any suggestions.

Just came by to get caught up on your family and Paige. Too cute!!
I say let your China doll grow according to her own design. If she is healthy, don't worry. She will catch up.
Almond butter and avocados both have very healthy fats and would work for lactose intolerance.

A good healthy food: avocado! It has the "good" kind of fat in it, my child loves to eat it plain, but there are a million things you can do with it. Good luck, fatten that kid up, LOL!

The frozen meatballs that come in a bag...they have something crazy like 24 grams of fat in them...even if she only eats a few, they are PACKED with fat and calories. Hsin ate a ton when she first came home to fatten her up. The frozen pancakes have a ton of calories and fat too...didn't even realize it until we looked. Good luck! We are glad to finally be off the "fatten her up" stage. Its hard to train yourself to think that way when you usually think what is healthy :-)
